Understanding pregnancy, labour, birth and your baby
Our antenatal sessions are currently running online through Microsoft Teams.
Doncaster Health Visiting antenatal classes take place consequently over four weeks in venues across the Doncaster region. The classes are available to all pregnant women, their partner and supporter. If you’re interested in attending ask your health visitor for details or your Family Hub.
Antenatal classes prepare you for your baby’s birth as well as learning to look after and feed your baby. They show you how to stay healthy during pregnancy and give you confidence and information. You will find out about the different arrangements for your labour, birth and the choices available to you to help you with your own birth plan. A benefit of attending antenatal classes is the social aspect. It’s a great way to make new friends in your area, who are going through similar experiences both during pregnancy and after giving birth.
The classes include:
- Helping you and your baby through pregnancy and birth
- Getting to know your baby in the womb
- You, your baby and the stages of labour
- Helping you and your baby through labour and birth
- Feeding your baby.
